"Donation Angel"
Holy Cross School's principal was elated when she got news that a donor offered to buy a classroom set of "Light to the Nations" for her 7th grade. A largely low-income parish school, they could not afford to buy the books, even though they desperately wanted to have Catholic curricula in their school. Their angel was most happy to help increase Catholic identity in their school. Do you want Catholic books, but cannot afford to change? Asking a generous angel, or the parish Knights of Columbus council to sponsor may be the way to go! They get to do good AND get a tax write-off.
A "must-have!"
Padre Pio Academy does whatever it takes, including making sure the budget can afford these books, since they are an essential element to Catholic Identity in a Catholic school. The school's founder, even though she sacrifices to buy our textbooks, writes: "Thanks again for all your hard work on these, they are such a blessing to our school."
About Catholic Schools Textbook Project
Catholic Schools Textbook Project's Teacher Manuals guide teachers through our unique, interesting, and enjoyable new textbooks. These textbooks differ markedly from most modern textbooks, for we believe that history is, first and foremost, an enjoyable story, a story filled with drama, not a simple listing of facts. We have written our books, therefore, as if we were writing a story or a series of stories.
Our hope is that students, approaching history as a story, will learn to love history and so will retain more historical knowledge than is normally the case with the more customary textbook style. Our Teacher Manuals will help guide teachers comfortably through this delightful retelling of history and provide them with sample quizzes, tests, activities, and reading lists.
