Not only for your financial support but also for all your special support for me while I am going through this difficult time. I still remember Mr. Indelicato's words to me. He said, "Don't worry, we are on your side." That really gave me a comforting feeling. I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank you, God, for having brought you to me. God bless you all."

"It was wonderful to hear about the great work being done by the Catholic Education Foundation. It is important for advocates like you to help get the message out about the benefits of receiving an education in a Catholic environment, offering students both academic and spiritual enrichment. It is clear that your committment benefits both the Rochester community and communities in other cities."

"I wanted to thank you personally for assisting me with your generous donation towards my tuition. You have helped me go to a Catholic high school this fall, which is something I really wanted to do. Before, I had been homeschooled from 1st - 9th grade. This wouldn't have been possible without God's grace and your financial assistance. I know that education is very important and necessary. It is one of God's many gifts that have been given to us. I've realized that you need to work hard, make good decisions and be serious about what you are doing, especially during high school.
Thank you again for the generous donation you've given me. May God truly bless you for your kindness and generosity!

Receiving this scholarship was both a privilege and an honor, and I, along with my family, are overly appreciative. Thank you again."

"Joe, thank you for all you do on behalf of Catholic education. You have provided financial assistance to several of our students over the years and we are grateful for your support."
Principal, HIgh School, Western New York

"My wife, boys, and I would like to thank you again for helping us provide our boys with a Catholic education. I found out towards the end of the school year that I would be laid off from the City School District, which I was, and I'm not sure how we would have finished paying for this year's tuition without your help. The boys took you up on your offer for matching funds and worked to earn money for their tuition. I think it taught them a lot. They are not used to having to hand over their hard-earned money, and I think they gained a little empathy for the people in their lives who sacrifice for them. As always, you remain in our prayers. Thank you."

Letter from Apostolic Nuncio, CEF Event's 2007 Honorary Chairman

"Keep up the fine work. Keep telling the wonderful story about the Catholic Education Foundation and the future that you have and are planning with all of us together. Keep moving us up to another level. People will hear what we have to say, but they will respond by what they see us doing. I hope the Catholic Education Foundation can be that kind of example of 'doing' God’s word in action. What you did last weekend (March 23-24, 2007} was terrific."
Fr. Tim Kenny, Director of Education
Marianist Province of the United States
St. Louis, Missouri

"While the memory of the Catholic Education Foundation banquet on Friday, March 23, and the Mass at the John Paul II Cultural Center on Satruday, March 24, 2007 is so fresh in my mind, I thank you for your kindness to me and the effort you, as founder of the Catholic Education Foundation, put into such a successful occasion. I am truly honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
In a particular way, I renew my gratitude to you and the Foundation for the gift of Timothy Schmalz's bronze sculpture, Young Pilgrims. It seems so appropriate to house that extraordinary work in a place where it would be seen by many, and so I have chosen to put it in the public area of our archdiocesan Secretariat for Education that also includes the Office of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
In expressing my appreciation, I also want to assure you of my prayers that God continues to bless you and the work of the Catholic Education Foundation.
With gratitude and every good wish as we commemorate the events of Holy Week, I am faithfully in Christ "

"Joe, it was an extremely enjoyable weekend. I am pleased that the Cultural Center performed for you as you wanted and that your guests were comfortable. The dinner last evening was really stellar. The food, guests, gifts and program were worthy of a major player, which is what you have created in the CEF. You have done a wonderful thing for people and it will live on long after we are all gone. I am delighted to be a small part of this organization and will watch with great pleasure its bright future. All the best,"

"Dear Joe,
I want to let you know how much I enjoyed the recent events [March 23-24, 2007] in Washington, D.C. The partnership with the Catholic Education Foundation and the Diocese of PIttsburgh resulted in a great weekend for all who participated. The symposium provided an opportunity to share ideas and highlight some excellent programs in support of Catholic education. The dinner and event at the Pope John Paull II Cultural Center were great experiences as well. I know that Archbishop Wuerl was pleased to participate.
I have enjoyed our collaboration, Joe, over these past years and am grateful for our friendship. Thank you for your great efforts in support of Catholic education.

"Dear Joe - Thank you very much for inviting me to join in the Catholic Education Foundation's Symposium, Recovering Catholic Education, on Friday, March 23. I enjoyed my participation in the panel on New Initiatives in Catholic Education. I was grateful for the opportunity to meet folks doing a variety of works but united by their commitment to Catholic education. Thanks, too, for honoring Fr. JIm Fischer, S.J.. As you know, Jim represents all that is good about Catholic education and about the Society of Jesus. Your honoring of Jim Fischer honored not only Jim but McQuaid and the Society of Jesus. I was pleased he could be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with two of his Jesuit Brothers.
Thanks, Joe, for all your work in support of Catholic education. It is a blessing. Be assured of my prayers for a blessed Triduum and Easter."

"Dear Joe,
I am writing to thank you for the great weekend last week [March 23-24, 2007]. The symposium, dinner and Saturday event [concelebrated Mass at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center] were truly special and I, on behalf of the Acton Institute, am proud to have been included. It was a first-class event, and there is no doubt that Catholic education is in better shape because of what you're doing. May God continue to bless your work."

"Dear Mr. Indelicato,
Greetings in the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. What a fabulous weekend we experienced at the CEF meeting in Washington, D.C. [March 23-24, 2007]. Honestly, it was like a "shot" in the arm to be among like-minded educators. Just meeting, talking with and knowing of others who view Catholic education in step with the Church gives one great encouragement. Thank you again and be assured of our prayers."

"Dear Mr. Indelicato,
As the principal of St. Vincent de Paul where we put into practice the wonderful ideas of Father Bernard Quinn, I was humbled to attend the informative symposium on "Recovering Catholic Education" [March 23, 2007]. Working side by side with Father [Quinn] was a joy and a challenge--one that brought me closer to God and one that made me appreciate the great gift of Catholic education. I'm sure Father smiled on all of us as he was inducted [posthumously] into the [CEF] Hall of Fame. Thank you for the great privilege of being there."

Principal

"Dear Joe,
Thank you very much for the outstanding leadership you provided with the Catholic Education Foundation/Diocese of Pittsburgh symposium, awards dinner and Liturgy on March 23-24, 2007. You and your assistant Dyann Brown and all of the others who assisted you are to be commended for making the entire event a great success! We were pleased and honored to partner with you and the Catholic Education Foundation.
There were many excellent highlights at the conference, but we were especially pleased with the partiicpation of Archbishop Wuerl and the many ways in which he was recognized and involved, including the Hall of Fame Award, and Liturgy on Saturday at the John Paul II Cultural Center. We were also pleased with the reception given to Vice Admiral Jonathan Greenert [Symposium Luncheon Speaker] and the recognition and attention that was given to him. In speaking to him since the conference, Vice Admiral Greenert and his wife were grateful and honored to be part of the gala event... Again, thank you for your leadership in providing a truly outstanding Catholic education conference and awards program. Best wishes for continued professional success and much joy in your personal life."
Dr. Robert L. Paserba, Superintendent for Catholic Schools
Diocese of Pittsburgh

"Dear Mr. Indelicato:
This is to thank you for your kindness ...this past weekend [March 23-24, 2007]: the symposium on Recovering Catholic Education and the celebratory banquet, honoring Most Rev. Donald Wuerl as well as the Inductees for the Hall of Fame. Of particular interest..., of course, was the posthumous induction of our former beloved pastor, Rev. Bernard Quinn... May I say how proud I was and am of Father Quinn for his tireless work in the field of Catholic education. May I also say how inspiring it was to hear you speak so respectfully and insightfully of Father Quinn, as only one who has spent time with him could speak.
Father Quinn is often quoted here at St. Vincent's; his wisdom is timeless. We were privileged to have Father with us those glorious and revolutionary years. He started it all with an 'earthquake,' and we all trembled.
When I think of Father Quinn, I remember his humility. On one occasion, as a parishioner was thanking Father for his work in developing a beautiful liturgy, Father Quinn tried to pass the praise onto some others who helped. When the parishioner insisted that they knew that Father Quinn was the one who deserved the praise, he literally stepped back and said, 'I am but his humble servant.' And so we are all called to be.
Thank you for honoring Father Bernard Quinn. His work lives on."
