Dear Mr. Indelicato:

This is to acknowledge gratefully your letter of February 14, 2007, with enclosure by which you invite me to participate in Recovering Catholic Education, an event taking place here in Washington, DC, March 23-24, under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Catholic Education Foundation.

Also, I note with great interest that during the course of this event, His Excellency the Most Reverend Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Catholic education.

First of all, I thank you for your thoughtful consideration of me, and please know that, indeed, I will gladly serve as Honorary Chair. Regretfully, however, my schedule is such that I am unable to concelebrate Holy Mass at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, as you kindly proposed.
